Stephen King's The Mist. Sadly his novellas and novels never transfer well to the silver screen... And the ending was THE saddest ending I have ever seen...

I popped it in when I was in the mood for something I knew would be cheesy and a touch gorey... but I was not expecting a side order of depression, too.

As I said... King's works are better left in the pages, instead of taken over by the media... somehow, they always seem to lose vital pieces in translation. Granted, The Stand was fairly well done as a film script, when compared to Secret Window.
