Bad for them to not to win, which party are they? They are actually characters from the TV series Doctor Who. Harriet Jones was a politician (and one time Prime Minister) whose career was very much tied to the Doctor, whilst Harold Saxon was actually the Doctor's arch-Nemesis, The Master.

Sorry, I only have seen the some Bad Wolf arc from Dr. Who, but I knew I have heard those names before... Anyway, government hasn't been the same since Jim Hacker left office

Hey, I voted for Harriet Jones! (MP: Flydale North)
Yes we know who she is. - semyaza wrote:

Withdrawing my consent to be governed is the likely route I will take. I'd rather vote for the lesser of 2 evils than not vote at all. Better yet, vote for the 3rd party folk. Although there's precedent in America for 3rd parties, many have bought into the idea that there can only be two. Better to help give rise to a 3rd party that'll speak to the disinfranchised than waste it on "American Idle" or "America's Got Talent but No Brain"

| About Bipartidism... well, I think Gilbert & Sullivan said it really good:
"Government by Party! Introduce that great and glorious element — at once the bulwark and foundation of England's greatness — and all will be well! No political measures will endure, because one Party will assuredly undo all that the other Party has done; and while grouse is to be shot, and foxes worried to death, the legislative action of the country will be at a standstill. Then there will be sickness in plenty, endless lawsuits, crowded jails, interminable confusion in the Army and Navy, and, in short, general and unexampled prosperity"

That's what I'm going to do. There really is no difference between the Republican and Democrat party--you vote for one, you vote for the other.

| There is a Monty Python sketch that really captures what politics and democracy is really about--the politicians are clowns. | |

| I just heard Paris Hilton has jokingly opted to enter the fray, as a result of McCain alluding to Obama being as popular as her. Its a sad state of American affairs when even SHE is starting to look like a viable option! Interestingly, in a response to Paris' mock "energy plan" McCain's spokesperson announced: - Quote :
- "It sounds like Paris Hilton supports John McCain's 'all of the above' approach to America's energy crisis - including both alternatives and drilling. Paris Hilton might not be as big a celebrity as Barack Obama, but she obviously has a better energy plan." ---Tucker Bounds, spokesman John McCain 2008
Of course, you probably wonder if an intellectually lightweight princess (who counts a dog &, earlier, Nicole Richie, as a major accessory) is capable of being in charge of the nuclear launch codes.... Well if HE was, how hard could it be??

| If Paris would really win... She'd be America's first porn star president. | |
