OK in an effort not to hijack the Stargate thread i figured we could take the general TV chatter and toss it here.


Did anyone else watch The Colony? It was a documentary style reality show. They took a group of people and tossed them in a large warehouse complex under a post apocalypse LA scenario and they had to live. There where raiders, nomads, a religious sect as well as all the real obstacles to living after society goes to total shit. In the scenario there was a global viral outbreak.

I'm a baby survivalist so I learned quite a bit. Like how to make a wood gasifier, how to make a 3 layer water filter, or use ozone to purifier water.

DS said something about Supernatural, we also watch that but i think this is the last season.

I caught the Colony up to the episode where everyone's feeling good because they have a shower again but they neglect the fence problem and the food supplies get destroyed by outsiders. I get sick of the handyman bitching all of the time. Sometimes he has a point but most times he just wants to be pissed off and say "I told you so" over an issue he was passive about (the security issue).

Ugh i know, he was such an asshat. He did just want to be pissed off all the time. I also thing he had a real inferiority complex. At one point he talks about being almost illiterate and calls himself a big dumb ape. Being around all those educated (rocket scientist) people seemed to really set him off.

I've never heard of the Colony, but I am an anti-survivalist. I can't for the life of me see the attraction in scratching and fighting to stay alive in a post apocalyptic hell without hot and cold running water and electricity.

Personally, if I survive the initial attack/disaster I intend to break into Threshers and vodka myself to death.
